Nothing has remained as it was.

The world before the Moonfall

Once born as the ruler of the night, Tsukuyumi was a powerful god being, a Kami of the old world. But he betrayed his kind when he killed the goddess of food with an arrow of light and a bow of dragon bone. As punishment he was banished to the eternal night sky, far away from his sister, the sun goddess Amaterasu.
Worn by loneliness, Tsukuyumi lost his life energy. sleep he drifted in space and time until he was surrounded by stone and stardust and finally became what people called the “moon”.
When the humans, once created by the Kami, saw Tsukuyumi petrified in the sky, they became aware of the strength of their own race. They moved out to get rid of their ancient gods, and before they became aware of the threat, the Ars Humana, the age of humanity, had begun on Earth. But the sky remained inaccessible to humans for many millennia and the moon became a hated symbol for the ancient rule of the Kami.
When technical progress finally opened the way to the skies, the descendants of the Kami hunters saw their chance. In 2078 they ventured from the Japanese moon station “Doragon”. But the lance, which was to penetrate Tsukuyumi’s heart and kill him, got stuck in his flank and only injured him – the mission failed. Only one astronaut survived.
The distress call of the kami hunters: “He has awakened. The dragon is returning.” Tsukuyumi, however, had woken up and was determined to free himself from his stone prison. Slowly, but steadily, he approached the earth in order to achieve new freedom through the collision of both celestial bodies. At first people looked at the sky with amazement, but soon curiosity turned into fear. The earth began to tremble, the tides went crazy and caused death, but the impact of the moon on Earth could not be stopped by any human effort.
When the moon hit the ground, within a few moments happened what usually happens over thousands of years: Masses of land were moved, pressed down and lifted up, masses of water displaced, the very bottom seemed to turn upwards Crunching and rumbling, the face of the planet changed But the moon came to a standstill in the boggy soil of the Pacific, towering enormous walls of earth in front of it.
The moon carved up land, broke up continental plates, caused mountains to shatter and broke its own rock shell on the icy peaks of the Himalayas.

The world after the Moonfall

Nothing is the same as before. A deep rift stretches from Asia to Europe and North America all the way to the Pacific. Where once the mighty ocean of the world swayed, the moon has dug its way deep into the now dusty ground. The rim of the crater is made up of a mountain range of land mass and earth crust thousands of metres high, which is only surmounted by the moon itself – with a diameter of around 3,000 kilometres, it extends far beyond the earth’s atmosphere. Tsukuyumi has still not gained his freedom, but his power is obvious.

The great centers of human civilization have been eradicated from the earth. Animals, plants and fertile soil were buried under the salty mud with which the huge tidal wave covered the land masses. Former islands, such as those of the Japanese archipelago, have been rising out of the barren ocean floor as fine rock needles ever since. The green belt of the equator was destroyed by the flood and enormous masses of ice push over the planet from the north and south poles.

The night has become dark. Humanity is almost extinguished. Scattered groups, rarely larger than 100 people, fight for bare survival and cling to even the smallest hope. Climate, landscape and living conditions, everything is increased to extremes. Nature has turned against man – and man must learn again what it means to become prey To be the prey of Tsukuyumi and his deadly henchmen, the Oni In the midst of chaos, Tsukuyumi rests waiting to be freed. He, who once produced life, is now creating an army of devastating creatures that are stronger and tougher than any other man on earth before.

Wherever Tsukuyumi’s pheromones meet life, they set a rapid evolution in motion. But his original plan doesn’t work out. While humans who come too close fall under his spell and become highly intelligent but destructive Oni, other creatures resist his influence. So now his own creatures turn against him and become his strongest opponents: among them are the insect swarms of the Dark Seed, the herds of pigs of the Boarlords, the beasts of the Children Of The Lion and the hulking land whales of the Lords Of The Lost Sea.

The former Pacific soil has degenerated into a battlefield. Whoever gains control over the moon seems to gain dominion over the new world at the same time. The final battle has begun, and the various factions – the last surviving humans, the evolutionary animal beings, and all the creatures in between – are determined to assert themselves as the dominant species, shake off Tsukuyumi’s influence, and finally make their own mark on the new era

The world has changed – and with it also the living beings who fight for their survival Whether human survivors, mutant animal races or human-machine hybrids, each faction wants to seize control in order to finally face their greatest enemy after the great battle: the white dragon TSUKUYUMI.

Children of the Lion

This clan travels together with its beasts, gigantic animal creatures that can be trained to fight. In addition, they can add new areas to the existing board and thus change the area in their favor, be it to put obstacles in the way of their opponents or to place themselves easy-to-conquer areas.

Sentinels Expansion (2020)

The Sentinels are ancient pandaren warriors whose ultimate goal is to destroy all Oni. If they succeed, they immediately win the game, regardless of their victory points. They can place portals on the field to quickly move between them, and use cloaking tokens to escape from battles unscathed and get back to their main job of hunting the Oni.

Fireborn Expansion (2020)

As an adaptation to the new environment, they have grown additional fins, on which they move in small schools, always in search of the sea. Due to their peaceful nature, they are not particularly strong in combat, but can displace their opponents with their massive bodies.

Sunrise Kingdom Expansion (2023)

Crowdfunding for the miniature version of Sunrise Kingdom is planned for early 2023.

Time has passed and the Sun Goddess Amaterasu, Tsukuyumi’s sister, intervenes to save her creation. She opens the portals of ancient times and sends the Guardians to assist the living beings of the world. Sunrise Kingdom is set in the southern hemisphere where Australia once was. Here you are further away from the moon, but peace does not reign here either. Surviving factions fight for resources, habitat and against the Oni onslaught. This expansion contains 5 new factions and
2 new modules, which can also be combined with the previous factions.

Sisters of Seven

These elite warriors are highly mobile thanks to their flying battle suits, have individual battle cards, and can bring valuable fertile grounds into play through their faction effect. Thanks to their defensive command, they can often displace attacking units before they can do any damage.

First Guardians

The goal of these ancient tortoises is to awaken the Jade Guardians that lie dormant in the earth. Jade Guardians are unique beings of great power, which have a great influence on the gameplay. Not only do they all have special effects when awakened, but they also automatically control the areas in which they stand, thanks to the new Burrow trait.

Circle of the Sun

These people are the chosen ones of the Sun Goddess, and move across the land in large groups. When their units are properly positioned, they form formations that can even help them turn Oni into their own units through Amaterasu’s light or generate instant victory points. They may seem harmless compared to other factions at the beginning, and exploit this advantage wherever possible.

Moon Circus

Die Zirkusclowns rasen in ihren aufgemotzten Karren über den Ozeanboden und werfen sich ohne Rücksicht auf Verluste in den Kampf. The circus clowns race across the ocean floor in their souped-up carts, throwing themselves into battle regardless. With no homezone, they can swoop down on the other factions from either side and conquer territories they thought were safe in the blink of an eye.

Reef Collective

A coral reef does not need units to exert its influence on the world, nor does it need combat actions or counterattacks. Instead, it spreads steadily, carrying its spores far across the board to settle in the backs of its enemies, take hold, and expand from there.

Chronomasters Expansion (2023)

Crowdfunding for the miniature version of the Chronomasters is planned for early 2023.

The Chronomasters are 12 time-traveling monkeys who return from the future to save the Earth from disaster. While the other factions have to laboriously conquer territory by territory, they already control large parts of the board at the beginning of the game thanks to their knowledge about the future. Not only does this allow them to play the game backwards, but they are also free to choose which phase to play and when. With their ability Time Warp they can send whole armies back in time, as if they had never left their homezone. Be surprised how the Chronomasters bring exciting new ideas to the game, while adding and changing the game in the usual Tsukuyumi manner.

Dark Crusade Expansion (2023)

Crowdfunding for the miniature version of the Dark Crusade is planned for early 2023.

When Mardukorden began its fight against Tsukuyumi, the boldest knights were given the hardest of tasks: Kampfgruppe 01 was to land on the moon and defeat the dragon once and for all.
But the mission was no success. They suffered heavy losses. Their battlesuits severly damaged, the knights of the Kampfgruppe 01 were imbued with Tsukuyumi´s power and became Oni. But their intense training and their faith were strong. They were able to resist the transformation and keep their own will. With their new powers, they patched their battlesuits with organic mass and ascended from the inner core of the moon. Half Oni and half knight, ready to rain havoc on whoever steps in the way of their crusade.
