Who is King Racoon Games?

King Racoon Games is a game studio from the baroque city of Ludwigsburg in southern Germany. We create game worlds that invite you to linger beyond the actual game.

Our game worlds are characterized by fantasy and a good pinch of humor. We always look at the characters that populate our worlds with a wink and invite all people to have fun with our games.

We emphasize diverse representation of each character and game mechanics that are closely intertwined with the theme. We call this “invisible” or “implicit” game design, and the experience that everyone at the table has while playing together is extremely important to us.

What makes the team?

In the King Racoon Games team, everyone contributes their strengths. Felix conceives and designs the games, Jan takes care of the 3D modeling, André provides editorial support and Gunnar and Dirk take care of the business side.

Happy and satisfied in the field of games and comics since 2010. He always imagines how it feels to take one of our games out of the box for the first time and put it on the table. An excitement he always felt himself as a child when a new game came on the table.

Jan speaks only High German and actually comes from the field of digital games. Nevertheless, he has found a new home with the Racoons, where he can let his illustrator’s heart run free. He also loves trading card games, splash art illustrations and competitive team games.

André Winter

Text, Technology and Project Management

André is the racoon that takes care of everything that has to do with texts, translations, editing and all other language issues. Beyond that he also looks after all technology related stuff. He is a passionate hiker, tea drinker and photographer. He loves games that constantly reveal new facets and is the owner of a fairly extensive media library. However, if you take a closer look, he belongs less to the raccoon species and is more of a cooking bear.

Graphics, layout and design

Maxine is an avid crafter, full time geek, loves adventure, color gradients and animals with small hands. Since 2016, she and Felix have been putting their energy into King Racoon, where she mainly does things related to graphic design, layout, and illustration. She also works independently for other game publishers and as a mentor at creative workshops for Tinkertank.

Johannes Forster

Johannes Forster

Editor and project manager

Johannes has a strong penchant for databases and has been playing role-playing games since he was 12 years old. At King Racoon he mainly takes care of game rules and helps enormously with game design by asking constructive critical questions. There is also the baseless accusation that he kidnapped Jacob’s icosahedron-shaped teacup, which is of course complete nonsense.

Good mood fairy and illustration

Jacob is a passionate role-player, ear wearer, and character designer, likes to drink tea, won’t accept licorice, and helps out with illustrations and test game rounds from time to time.

For the role-playing game in the world of Tsukuyumi, the last texts are still being written and the final illustrations are being made. Thanks to active participation in the test rounds, we were able to gather comprehensive feedback on the rule system and are currently in the midst of implementing it.
